In my line of business, I know better than to try and talk certain people into trying a new, but exciting perfume. Why? Well, in the past those people have looked me in the eyes, turned up their noses, and told me categorically "I only wear classic perfumes". This is the part where you say "Snobby much?"
Are you looking for the perfect fragrances that you can wear for your wedding day? Then, there are a couple of things that you will need to consider prior to choosing the scent that you are going to wear for your "Big Day". You want your list of fragrances to embody what your relationship is all about. Is your relationship spicy, sweet, and/or subtle?
We have a lot of visual images when it comes to the term "romantic", such as hearts, roses, and anything that is red. It is a lot harder to pin down what makes a fragrance fit the bill. According to those with well trained noses, romantic scents are scents that contain luxuriant flowers, comforting, powdery notes, sweet scents like amber and vanilla.
Some say that perfume was first discovered in Mesopotamia, while others strongly believe that it is originally from Arabia, a place which is still called the "Land of perfumes". 2000 BC is the earliest record of scent in Egypt, where perfumes were believed to be the gods' sweat and incense was used as offering at the burials of Egyptian mummies.
There is really no common terminology for scents, which makes it hard for people to clearly describe the kind of scent they are searching for. These consumers end up improvising and mixing up adjectives for sounds, music, touch, and food in order to describe what they want in a perfume. For example, a person may walk to a perfume counter and ask for a "fresh" fragrance and then end up purchasing a fragrance like Musc Ravageur, a scent that is woody, sexy, and spicy – certainly not fresh.
When you wear the right perfume in the right way, you are sure to exude pure seduction. It does not matter whether you are wearing a flowery, light eau de toilette that seems whimsical and impulsive or a musky fragrance that is provocative as it is sexual, if you do not know what to wear, you could end up smelling like a plain Jane/Joe.
